Caxias do Sul is the second largest city in the Rio Grande do Sul State, Brazil with a population of over 400,000. Seeking to better meet the demands of the population, Caxias do Sul felt the need to modernize its telecommunications network infrastructure. The Caxias telecommunications network has about 4 thousand users across 19 strategic secretariats for supporting the local population in their needs, such as care services in Basic Health Units (UBS), primary schools and early childhood education, and offices of the environment, traffic, construction, agriculture, sports and leisure, culture, tourism, and economic development departments. Caxias do Sul implemented ExtremeSwitching, ExtremeWireless, Extreme Management Center, and ExtremeAnalytics.
