The Unexpected Convergence: Camera AP

June 22, 2017

Analysts predict there will be hundreds of billions of Internet of Things devices by 2020. However, not all of these will be autonomous. Some will converge products where synergies between technologies are formed, sharing common platforms and connections, while increasing functionality and value.

The merging of an HD video camera and Wi-Fi access point may not be the first thought of IoT convergence. However, neither was the creation of a music player, camera and phone, but today it is expected. The pervasive nature and use of both technologies are addressing needs in enterprises; addressing network access and providing video surveillance that can be used not just for security, but for workflow and video analytics.

  • The technology behind the camera AP
  • Why does this convergence of technology make sense?
  • What are the applications?
  • What value does it bring to my network and business?
