But unified communications isn’t without its challenges. Flexibility that applications can offer vs. dedicated devices requires new considerations for the network administrator. Gone are the days where VoIP traffic could be limited to a single type of device and prioritized by type. Your network must automatically and dynamically provision applications the moment they touch the network. Your network should have a “rules of the road” and provision itself for optimized delivery of applications from a data center hosting virtual applications down to the edge with wired and wireless devices.
