A Note from Theresa Caragol, Extreme Networks, Global Channel Chief

September 17, 2013 Extreme Partner Team

You have no doubt seen the tremendous news about Extreme Networks entering into a definitive commitment to combine with Enterasys, as a much stronger, larger and visionary leader in networking.  Our partners play a significant role in the future of the combined companies’ success.

We have received overwhelmingly positive coverage from both press and analysts across the globe about our future strength together. The following links provide highlights from an industry perspective from Network World and channel perspective from CRN.  Please visit the Extreme Networks corporate website to see the full news and press coverage.

With this excitement of change comes the challenge of change! Once this transaction closes, which we anticipate will be before the calendar year end, we will need you, as loyal partners, more than ever to commit to helping us during this time of transition in offering what we believe will be one of the industry’s strongest portfolios of products. It’s extremely important that you understand, and that we communicate to customers, that the combined company intends to sell and support Extreme Networks and Enterasys products and solutions well into the foreseeable future.  The value in working with the NEW Extreme Networks will not come from converting Enterasys customers. It will come from operational synergies when we officially combine once the transaction closes. While we understand the temptation of trying to leverage this news at the end of a sales quarter, we do need your help driving the messages set forth in our Partner FAQ.  We are counting on you to help us through this transition.

I am personally thrilled with the combined company opportunity for our valued channel partners, and look forward to sharing
more information with you once the transaction is completed.
